Binance Next? CEXs Scramble to List Telegram-Based Memecoin DOGS

With the launch date set for August 20, the DOGS community is optimistic that Binance will add support for the token.

DOGS memecoin

Another Telegram-based token is set to take centralized exchanges by storm after the Notcoin mania earlier this year. This time, it is a dog-themed memecoin called DOGS, built on The Open Network (TON).

Launched on July 9, the “most Telegram-native meme coin” took over the messaging app. DOGS was inspired by Telegram owner Pavel Durov’s mascot, Spotty. The memecoin rewarded users based on the age of their Telegram accounts and other criteria.

In less than 24 hours, DOGS gained over 1 million users. The memecoin’s Telegram bot had over 54 million users at the time of this writing.

DOGS to Debut on Several Exchanges

On August 6, DOGS’s official Telegram group announced users had only a few days to claim the token, hinting at a possible launch soon. The DOGS team confirmed the speculations on August 11, stating it would give more details of its launch three days later.

On August 14, which was Telegram’s 11th anniversary, the DOGS team announced that the token would be available for trading on August 20. Since then, over 18 centralized exchanges have announced they will list the token upon launch.

Major exchanges like Bybit, Kucoin, OKX, Gate.io, and Bitget have announced they will list the token on the launch date. DOGS becomes the second TON-based token to experience such a centralized exchange scramble after Notcoin.

Binance Next?

Amidst the centralized exchange listing spree, the leading exchange, Binance, has yet to announce any support for DOGS. However, the Telegram community is hopeful that the largest exchange by trading volume will open its doors to the Durov-backed memecoin.

The DOGS community’s optimism is largely inspired by Notcoin’s achievement of a similar feat. A few days before Notcoin’s market debut, Binance announced that it would add support for the token. Notably, Binance has not given an official statement on the boiling issue.

DOGS’s development team has opened the window to transfer the token. At the moment, only Bybit and OKX are the available centralized exchange options. Users can also move DOGS to the Telegram wallet.
