Ethena’s native token, ENA, rose more than 40% today after a major financing deal between FalconX and Ethena’s USDe. The increase makes ENA one of the best performers in the market, highlighting Ethena’s growing influence in institutional digital finance.
According to CoinGecko data, ENA is trading at about $0.144, up 43.4% in the last 24 hours. Over the week, the token has increased by 65.6%, indicating strong trading activity in the markets.
FalconX Deal Opens $1 Billion Institutional Credit Channel
FalconX recently announced a $1 billion secured lending program with Ethena. The program will use USDe-backed assets to provide loans to institutions. By doing this, it connects Ethena’s crypto liquidity with the borrowing needs of professional market participants.
Following the deal, FalconX will be responsible for starting, servicing, and managing collateral for these loans. Then, qualified custodians will keep the assets safe. For Ethena, the partnership offers a steady way to earn returns beyond just crypto strategies, expanding how USDe-backed capital can earn yield.
The companies see this deal as a way to use on-chain capital for secured credit, with plans to grow as borrowing demand increases. The financing builds on their existing relationship, as FalconX already supports USDe in its global trading and financing services.
FalconX executive Craig Birchall stated that the partnership shows a move towards secure and integrated credit systems in various asset markets.
Rally Runs Deeper as ENA Transfer Gains Value
ENA’s rally runs deeper when examining blockchain movements. Recently, an Ethena-linked wallet transferred 170 million ENA tokens to FalconX. As of August 18, the transfer was worth $14.09 million. The wallet had received ENA from Ethena’s Gnosis Safe, which shows its connection to the project’s ecosystem.
This large transfer raised concerns because it could indicate that the sender intends to sell, or it might reflect other institutional strategies. However, FalconX later returned the tokens, giving a different view of the transaction amid ENA’s rising value.
Notably, as of the time FalconX returned the 170 million ENA tokens, their value had jumped to about $23.68 million, reflecting a 68% increase of $9.59 million. The change illustrates how quickly ENA’s market value can change in response to institutional actions, shifts in liquidity, and investor sentiment.
