Wyoming Unveils First U.S. State-Backed Frontier Stable Token (FRNT)

Following guidance from the Wyoming Select Committee on Blockchain, FRNT is now live across seven major blockchains.

The Wyoming Stable Token Commission has launched the Frontier Stable Token (FRNT). It is a fully reserved stablecoin collateralized by fiat and Treasury securities. The launch of FRNT establishes a historic precedent as Wyoming becomes the first public-sector stablecoin in the United States.

According to an official post, the stablecoin is supported by reserves held in U.S. currency and Treasury securities. FRNT ensures stability with a legislatively required 2% overcollateralization. It is kept in trust for token holders’ benefits.

A Strategic Partnership

The latest rollout moves the concept from theory into practice. Notably, the token’s protocol supports efficient cross-chain settlement with minimal fees, while reserve yields contribute to state-level revenue.

Through a strategic partnership with token partner LayerZero, FRNT has launched on multiple major blockchains. This includes Ethereum, Solana, Arbitrum, Avalanche, Polygon, Optimism, and Base. The collaboration is also in line with the Wyoming Select Committee on Blockchain’s recommendation.

Accessible Across Platforms

The token’s reserve structure is designed not only to maintain liquidity but also to generate revenue through Treasury yields. It creates a connection between public finance and decentralized finance (DeFi) innovation. As the news broke through the internet, an X user described the initiative as more than a milestone, but a sign that public institutions are embracing blockchain at scale.

As such, the latest launch positions the state at the forefront of blockchain innovation. According to the announcement, FRNT is also expected to be listed for purchase on the Solana blockchain via Wyoming-based exchange KrakenFX, and through Raincards’ Visa-enabled payment platform operating on Avalanche.

Built with global adoption in mind, FRNT is structured to enable secure, verifiable, and cost-effective transactions for retail users, corporate entities, and large-scale institutions alike.

Commenting on the latest rollout, Wyoming Governor Mark Gordon said:

“Today, Wyoming reaffirms its commitment to financial innovation and consumer protection. The mainnet launch of the Frontier Stable Token will empower our citizens and businesses with a modern, efficient, and secure means of transacting in the digital age.”

Gordon added that since 2016, Wyoming has established itself as the most proactive U.S. state in crypto and blockchain regulation. It passes over 45 bills to create a favorable environment for digital assets.
