Worldcoin’s path toward Wall Street exposure recently gained attention after Grayscale submitted an S-1 registration statement with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) for a spot Worldcoin ETF.
The proposed fund, named the Grayscale Worldcoin Trust ETF, aims to trade on Nasdaq under the ticker symbol GWLD, provided it receives regulatory approval. The development represents a significant step in the expansion of crypto investment products beyond Bitcoin and Ethereum.
Grayscale to Bring Worldcoin Into TradFi
Grayscale’s latest filing represents a significant move to introduce Worldcoin, the native token of the World Network, into the regulated investment market. The asset manager submitted the S-1 registration statement on July 20, 2026, detailing plans for a fund designed to track the value of WLD held by the trust, after deducting expenses and liabilities.
The filing describes the product as a passive investment vehicle, allowing investors to gain exposure to Worldcoin without directly purchasing or managing the digital asset themselves. The trust would use BitGo Bank & Trust as its custodian, while The Bank of New York Mellon would serve as transfer agent.
Although the filing does not guarantee approval, as the ETF must still undergo the SEC’s regulatory review process before shares can begin trading publicly, the submission indicates a growing institutional demand for regulated products that provide investors access to alternative digital assets through familiar financial channels.
The announcement has had an impact on WLD’s price. At the time of writing, it sold for $0.384, representing a 7.5% increase within the past 24 hours.
Grayscale Expands Crypto ETF Offerings
Grayscale became one of the leading names in digital asset investment after converting its flagship Bitcoin trust into a spot Bitcoin ETF following a legal challenge against the SEC. It has since expanded its ETF ambitions toward other cryptocurrencies, including Ethereum and several major alternative assets.
By targeting Worldcoin, Grayscale is moving deeper into the altcoin ETF market, where asset managers are competing to provide investors with exposure to a wider range of blockchain projects. The company has also pursued other ETF products connected to cryptocurrencies such as Dogecoin, Solana, and Chainlink, showing its intention to establish a broad digital asset investment platform.
Grayscale’s latest move shows how quickly the crypto investment sector is evolving. As more asset managers compete for approval of digital asset ETFs, projects once considered outside traditional finance are gradually entering mainstream investment discussions. The Worldcoin filing adds another chapter to that transformation.
