Sui Network, the high‑throughput layer‑1 blockchain known for its scalable architecture, is currently facing a significant network stall. The technical setback has halted the production of checkpoints and blocked new transaction confirmations.

The Sui Core team confirmed the issue some hours ago in an official post on X, noting that decentralized applications like Slush and SuiScan may be unavailable. They also stated that transactions could be slow or temporarily unable to process until the situation is resolved.

Network Outage Disrupts Transactions and dApps

This latest disruption has left users unable to interact normally with the network. Transactions have slowed down or are temporarily unable to process. The stall was flagged when validators stopped producing new checkpoints, effectively leaving the blockchain in a paused state. The core team is actively working to diagnose and fix the problem. Updates are expected to be shared as soon as they become available.

Network issues like this can be especially frustrating for developers and traders who depend on reliable transaction processing. For now, users are advised to stay patient and avoid sending transactions until normal operations resume. Meanwhile, the network’s native token, SUI, reacted to news of the outage decline by a mild 0.5% in the last hour, per data from Coingecko

Not the First Time

This isn’t the first time Sui has grappled with technical setbacks. In November 2024, the network experienced a notable outage that lasted over two hours due to a bug in its transaction scheduling logic. The bug caused validators to crash, and production to cease. The core team and validator community patched the problem and restored operations after swift troubleshooting.

These interruptions suggest that maintaining peak performance on a cutting‑edge blockchain involves ongoing challenges. This is especially true as usage grows and the ecosystem becomes more complex. Despite these technical hurdles, Sui remains a popular choice in the decentralized space thanks to its innovative design and robust developer community. While stalls and outages can dent short‑term confidence, the team’s quick response has helped the network recover without lasting damage.
