A smart crypto trader has reportedly turned market moves into a $5.6 million gain in three days by trading the opposite positions of high-profile Bitcoin whale James Wynn.
What a smart trader!
When @JamesWynnReal goes long, he goes short.
When James Wynn goes short, he goes long.
And in just 3 days, he’s made $5.6M!How did he do it?👇
On May 24, trader 0x2258 started shorting $BTC and $ETH, when James Wynn was long $BTC.

Wynn, known for his leveraged positions in Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), and various altcoins, has regained attention as BTC recently rallied to a new all-time high on May 22. His latest trades have once again sparked widespread discussion across the crypto community.
BTC Trader Cashes Out $5.6M in 3 Days
According to Lookonchain, the smart trader has consistently placed trades in the opposite direction to Wynn’s. On May 24, while Wynn held a long BTC position and began opening short positions in both BTC and ETH, the trader entered long positions in those assets.
The following day, when Wynn closed his BTC long, the trader closed his short and recorded a $1.36 million profit. Later that same day, Wynn switched to a BTC short. The trader responded by opening new long positions in BTC and ETH.
On May 26, as Wynn exited his short, the trader closed his longs and secured another $2.54 million in profit. Finally, when Wynn returned to a long position in BTC later on May 26, the trader went short again on BTC and ETH, gaining an additional $1.7 million in unrealized profits.
Meanwhile, Wynn continues to add to his Bitcoin long, now holding 5,676 BTC worth $622.6 million. However, his position appears precarious with a liquidation price of $108,010, just 1.36% below Bitcoin’s current price of around $109,500 as of May 27. Any slight downturn in price could result in a massive liquidation.
Rising Institutional Interest in Bitcoin
Wynn’s moves are happening amid rising institutional interest in Bitcoin. A recent CoinTab report revealed that The Blockchain Group, a Paris-listed firm, raised $72 million (€63.3 million) through convertible bond sales to expand its Bitcoin holdings and blockchain development efforts.
In Hong Kong, DDC Enterprise recently purchased 21 BTC and aims to accumulate 5,000 BTC over time. Similarly, Sweden’s H100 Group secured $2.2 million through convertible loans to begin its Bitcoin treasury program.
