OKX Expands to Spain With MiCA-Compliant Crypto Exchange Launch

The platform offers Spanish users access to spot services, staking, automated trading bots, and over 270 cryptocurrencies.

OKX

OKX, a global crypto exchange and blockchain technology firm, has officially launched its fully regulated centralized exchange in Spain. The rollout leverages the European Union’s Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) framework through passporting rights, allowing OKX to offer services in the Spanish market.

The platform provides Spanish users access to a range of products, including spot trading, staking, automated trading bots, and more than 270 cryptocurrencies. OKX has paired over 60 of these assets with the euro. As a result, local users can transact within a compliant and secure environment.

Local Focus and Regulatory Commitment

With the launch, OKX brings a suite of crypto services to Spain, including interest-earning tools, affordable trading access, and upcoming features tailored to local needs. The company has also established a localized support system and aims to elevate user experience through robust compliance and regulatory standards.

Erald Ghoos, CEO of OKX Europe, described Spain as a key market within the European Economic Area (EEA).

“Spanish customers now have access to a suite of crypto products and services that cater to the needs of the Spanish community, focusing on convenience, low trading fees, and seamless Euro deposits and withdrawals,” Ghoos stated.

He added that the launch marks the beginning of OKX’s long-term commitment to the country.

OKX’s Broader Push Across Europe

To commemorate its official entry into Spain, OKX hosted an exclusive event in Madrid. The event featured the premiere of “Mild Mild West.” This is a short film aimed at reshaping perceptions of the crypto industry, changing its image from the “Wild West” to a space defined by regulation and trust.

The Spanish launch represents a key milestone in a broader period of momentum for OKX across Europe. Over the past year, the exchange has reported notable growth in active users and a significant increase in assets under management.

OKX has also expanded its workforce across the EEA by 30%. It was one of the first globally to achieve MiCA compliance. Also, it is currently passporting its services through a license obtained in Malta.

As part of its wider European strategy, the company has held launch events in Berlin and Warsaw in recent weeks, unveiling fully localized platforms for Germany and Poland.
