Metaplanet Posts 568% BTC Yield, Revenue Jumps 8X in FY2025

Metaplanet Inc. (TSE: 3350) released its financial results for the fiscal year that ended on December 31, 2025, showing dramatic revenue growth and strong bitcoin performance. The company highlighted its strategy of holding cryptocurrency as a core treasury asset.

Metaplanet Posts 568% BTC Yield

CEO Simon Gerovich shared the key figures on X. He noted a revenue of $57.5 million („8.91 billion), up more than eight times from the previous year. Operating profit reached $40.6 million („6.29 billion), marking a 1,695% increase.

The company reported a BTC yield of 568%, reflecting substantial gains from its crypto holdings. Despite these figures, Metaplanet recorded an ordinary loss of $613 million („95.046 billion) and a net loss of a similar amount attributable to owners of the parent company.

Revenue surged from $6.85 million („1.062 billion) in FY2024 to $57.5 million („8.905 billion) in FY2025, showing strong top-line growth. The net loss contrasts with profits from the previous year, highlighting the volatility tied to cryptocurrency assets.

Earnings per share stood at negative $0.85 („131.34), affected by a 1:10 stock split in April 2025. On the balance sheet, total assets expanded to $3.26 billion („505.286 billion), largely driven by appreciation in BTC, up from $196 million („30.325 billion) the year before.

Net assets increased sharply to $2.96 billion („458.592 billion), raising the equity ratio to 90.7% from 55.9%. Net assets per share jumped to $2.47 („382.82), up from $0.30 („46.83) in FY2024, reflecting the impact of the cryptocurrency strategy.

Outlook for FY2026 and Corporate Structure

Metaplanet positions itself as a “BTC Treasury Company,” integrating bitcoin into its long-term financial planning. The company trades on the Tokyo Stock Exchange and over-the-counter in the U.S. under MTPLF and MPJPY.

Looking forward, the firm expects revenue of $103 million („16.00 billion) in FY2026, an 80% increase from FY2025. Operating profit is forecast at $73.5 million („11.40 billion), up 81%, while the company has not announced any dividends for the upcoming fiscal year.
