Donald Trump Promotes the DeFiant Ones, a Project Tied to His Sons

Donald Trump stated that the traditional financial system had treated U.S. citizens unfairly, and the new DeFi project was a way to take a stand.

Aspiring U.S. President Donald Trump was seen promoting a crypto project on his social media handle on Thursday. Trump shilled a new family business, “The DeFiant Ones,” to his 7.57 million followers on Truth Social.

The post included a caption expressing opposition to the traditional banking system’s foul activities and a link to the project’s Telegram channel.

“For too long, the average American has been squeezed by the big banks and financial elites. It’s time we take a stand-together,” Trump said in the post, adding the #BeDeFiant hashtag.

Donald Trump has been vocal about cryptocurrencies since he started his presidential campaign. His support for the sector has endeared him to the community and even yielded financial donations for his aspirations.

The DeFiant Ones

The project was tied to Trump’s two sons, Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump, who have long spoken about the new enterprise. On their X handles, the duo has teased the yet-to-be-launched decentralized finance (DeFi) project couple of times.

On August 15, Eric posted a link to the project’s official Telegram post, stating that further details on the new endeavor would be shared in the group. In an interview with the New York Post, Eric described the DeFi project as digital real estate, stating it would displace the traditional financial system.

“It’s equitable. It’s collateral anyone can get access to and do so instantly. I don’t know if people realize what a shakeup that is for the world of banking and finance. I hope we can help change that,” he said.

At the time of writing, the DeFiant Ones’ official channel had 32,634 members, and no new information has been shared on the platform. The Trump family created the group on August 7.

A few days ago, a scammer took advantage of Eric’s X post on August 6 about his growing love for crypto and DeFi to launch a scam token, RTR. The token gained traction immediately until  Eric debunked rumors that the Trump family had launched a memecoin.
