Here’s What You Should Know About MyShell’s AI Agent Upgrade

The ShellAgent update will enable MyShell users to deploy AI agents with minimal or no coding knowledge.

MyShell, a decentralized project themed around artificial intelligence (AI), has unveiled a new product that has caught the attention of many users building at the intersection of AI and blockchain.

On February 16th, the AI-focused project unveiled ShellAgent, an umbrella term for three subsections that will ease the creation and deployment of AI agents within the ecosystem. They are the ShellAgent protocol, IM integration, and on-chain intelligence.

Key Features of ShellAgent

Before now, AI agent developers had to manually input codes guiding AI agents’ operations and API integrations. However, the ShellAgent Protocol is a game-changer, bringing the “plug & play” mechanics into the ecosystem.

Described as “the new open and modular agentic framework,” the ShellAgent protocol streamlines the creation of AI agents. Instead of building an AI agent with complex technical knowledge, users with minimal or zero programming knowledge can establish AI agents using over 300 widgets. They can deploy their desired AI agent by dragging and dropping widgets in preferred locations. Developers can create or contribute widgets to enhance the AI agent’s functionalities.

The IM integration feature allows users to add AI agents to social media platforms like X. These AI agents help to “monitor trends, generate content, automate replies, and analyze audience sentiment.” It also brings to life the idea of automating marketing campaigns and downsizing costs for brands, projects, and decentralized autonomous organizations (DAOs) interested in the use case.

The ShellAgent upgrade also features an on-chain intelligence, bringing an autonomous DeFAI agent to life. This helps analyze blockchain data, track market trends, execute trades and swaps, and interact with smart contracts. These AI agents can also manage user’s crypto wallets and operate across various blockchain networks.

Impact on SHELL’s Price

Like other projects developing at the intersection of AI and blockchain technology, MyShell offers various tools for incorporating AI into users’ interactions with their favorite DeFi projects. The AI-driven project facilitates the creation, deployment, and management of AI agents. Users can also access AI-powered apps and chatbots to streamline their experience within the ecosystem.

Since its inception in April 2023, MyShell has captured the attention of users and institutions alike. Last year, Binance Labs injected funds into the AI-focused platform through its Incubation Program.

Fast-forward to February 14th, when MyShell unveiled its native token, SHELL. Hours after its debut, this token captured massive attention, partly due to its ties with Binance. The MyShell community received as many as 30% of the token’s total supply of one billion for active participation. Beneficiaries received SHELL tokens based on their accumulated points (ShellCoin). On-chain data from the price tracking website CoinGecko shows that the digital token soared by as much as 112% on the same day it launched.

Following MyShell’s announcement of the ShellAgent upgrade, SHELL soared to an all-time high of $0.5985. However, the token has now dropped 12.5% below that price to $0.55 at the time of writing.
