VINE Token Jumps 46% After Musk Hints at AI-Powered Vine Relaunch

VINE’s 24-hour volume spiked 1,300% to $319.7 million, signaling renewed interest following the price surge.

The VINE token recorded a sharp price jump on Thursday following speculation about the return of the Vine app with artificial intelligence features. The news quickly drew attention across the Solana memecoin space, pushing the token’s price up over 46% to $0.079.

Following the surge, trading activity also spiked, signaling renewed interest in the asset. Market data showed that VINE’s 24-hour trading volume climbed to $319.7 million, marking a 1,300% increase from the previous day.

Musk’s Remarks and Viral Video Stir Hype

Notably, the surge in trading activity helped VINE outperform the broader crypto market, which saw a slight dip during the same period. While global prices dropped by around 1.2%, VINE climbed more than 40% over the past week.

The rise in value also placed the token ahead of most other Solana-based memecoins. Analysts pointed to social media influence and rising speculation as key drivers behind the price movement.

A major part of that speculation came from remarks made by Elon Musk, the owner of X, formerly Twitter. The tech billionaire said on Thursday that the Vine app could return “in AI form,” reigniting user interest in the platform’s possible revival.

Soon after, Vine’s co-founder Rus Yusupov posted a video that appeared to support the claim. The clip showed him lip-syncing to a Musk voiceover discussing artificial intelligence, suggesting a tech-enhanced reboot of Vine.

Although no official confirmation has been made, the video fueled speculation across crypto communities. Some users interpreted the post as a teaser for an AI-integrated version of the short-form video app.

Token Origins and Musk’s Revival Interest

Yusupov originally launched the VINE token in January through Pump.fun, a memecoin creation tool. At launch, he shared a waitlist link for a possible Vine comeback, and the token briefly reached a $500 million market cap.

However, VINE later fell over 90% from its peak and has been trading mostly flat in recent months. Its market cap hovered around $42 million before this week’s spike pushed it briefly above $90 million.

To support the project’s long-term plans, a portion of the token supply remains locked. Specifically, 5% of the 1 billion token supply is secured in a development wallet until June 28, 2025.

Vine, once a popular platform for viral short videos, was acquired by Twitter in 2012 for $30 million. The app was shut down in 2017, but Musk has expressed interest in reviving it under his AI company, xAI.

Musk’s involvement goes beyond speculation. He previously revealed that someone at xAI had been assigned to explore the idea of bringing Vine back. That comment, combined with this week’s activity, has placed the project back in the public eye.

VINE Lags Previous High

Despite the notable 46% price rally, VINE remains far below its early-year high. At the time of writing, the token trades just above $0.054, with a market cap slightly over $54 million.

The asset is currently available on several centralized exchanges. OKX leads the market with over $56 million in volume for the VINE/USDT pair, followed by platforms like Deepcoin and Ourbit.

Even with growing exchange activity, no formal connection has been established between the token and a Vine relaunch. Still, a mix of celebrity attention, AI agent buzz, and nostalgia continues to shape interest in the project.
