Uniswap Launches In-App Bridging Feature for Seamless Transactions Across Multiple Networks

The integration leverages Across' bridging solution, which simplifies the process of moving assets between different blockchains.

CFTC, Uniswap

Uniswap Labs, the entity behind the development of decentralized exchange Uniswap, has announced a new partnership with Across to integrate a cross-chain swap bridge. According to a blog post, the solution aims to streamline asset swapping process for users of the Uniswap Wallet and Uniswap Web App.

“At Uniswap Labs, we’re committed to building products for the multi-chain world. As we continue to build out new features, we aim to provide users with seamless cross-chain experiences,” Uniswap Labs said.

The in-app feature will allow users to exchange ether (ETH), wrapped Bitcoin (WBTC), and stablecoins across nine chains, including Ethereum, Base, Arbitrum, Polygon, OP Mainnet, Zora, Blast, World Chain, and ZKsync.

Multi-Chain Bridging Solution

The integration leverages Across’ bridging solution, which simplifies the process of moving assets between different blockchains. Across operates as a permissionless bridge through a decentralized network of liquidity pools and relayers, enabling instantaneous asset transfers.

This bridging solution is based on the ERC-7683 token standard introduced earlier this year to enhance cross-chain interoperability. The standard consolidates cross-chain intents, enabling a universal filler network to manage transactions. As a result, developers can concentrate on a single chain instead of requiring multiple layer-2 deployments while accessing the entire EVM ecosystem.

Instantaneous Transaction

Hart Lambur, co-founder and CEO of Across, commented on the development, noting that users can transfer ETH and stablecoins between layer-2 networks with an average fill time of approximately three seconds.

“I see this as more than just bridging; it’s establishing a standard for a connected, seamless, and interoperable future,” he added.

Earlier this month, Uniswap announced plans to launch its dedicated layer-2 network to enhance the Ethereum network’s setbacks. Dubbed “Unichain,” the scaling solution aims to offer users faster transactional settlement speeds, cross-operability, enhanced liquidity, and reduced transaction costs. Its mainnet is expected to be released later this year.
