SharpLink Gaming has added more than 30,000 ETH to its crypto holdings in the past 14 hours. Data from Arkham Intelligence shows the transactions were carried out across multiple platforms, including Coinbase Prime and Galaxy Digital.
Notably, the recent accumulation is part of a broader strategy that began in early June. Since then, the company has acquired more than 300,000 ETH, prompting comparisons to Michael Saylor’s (Strategy) aggressive bitcoin buying approach.
Institutional ETH Buying Accelerates
Blockchain analytics firm EmberCN estimates that SharpLink’s average cost per coin is around $2,745. Some of the latest purchases were reportedly made for approximately $2,667, although SharpLink has not confirmed these figures.
It is worth noting that the company’s recent activity aligns with a broader surge in institutional demand for ether. On Wednesday, spot Ethereum ETFs recorded net inflows totaling $726 million.
BlackRock’s ETF, ETHA, led the charge by purchasing more than 159,000 ETH valued at $499 million. Fidelity’s FETH followed with a buy of over 36,000 ETH worth $113 million.
These ETFs have posted consistent inflows in recent weeks. For the week ending July 11, they attracted over $900 million, their highest weekly intake since launch. According to SoSoValue, more than 42% of those inflows came on July 10 alone, when $383.1 million flowed into Ethereum ETFs in a single day.
Bit Digital Prepares $67M ETH Entry
Bit Digital has also announced plans to buy Ethereum. The crypto infrastructure firm intends to raise $67.3 million through a direct stock offering. The offering includes 22 million ordinary shares priced at $3.06 each. B. Riley Securities will manage the deal, which targets institutional buyers.
Bit Digital’s move reflects a growing trend among institutional players looking to gain exposure to Ethereum amid its recent price surge. On Thursday morning, ETH touched $3,470, a 150% rise from its April low of around $1,385. The asset is up 10% over the past 24 hours and has gained 25% in the last seven days.
