This BTC, bought between January 6 and January 12, takes MicroStrategy’s Bitcoin holdings to 450,000 BTC, purchased at an average price of $62,691 each. Based on current market prices, this stash is now worth $41.21 billion.
With this balance, MicroStrategy remains the largest corporate holder of BTC, holding 2.1% of the digital asset’s total supply of 21 million.
As usual, MicroStrategy’s latest acquisition follows the sale of 710,425 MSTR shares, which raised funds. The company plans to raise $42 billion over three years to fund more BTC acquisitions.
Meanwhile, MicroStrategy has now bought Bitcoin for the 10th consecutive week, underscoring its commitment and optimism towards the original cryptocurrency. It purchased approximately $18 billion worth of BTC during this period alone.
BTC Investment Performance
Last week, CoinTab reported that the software company bought 1,070 BTC for $101 million. At the time, it was revealed that the company achieved a BTC Yield of 48% in Q4 2024 and 74.3% in fiscal year 2024. Moreover, it has gained a BTC Yield of 0.32% since the beginning of this year.
For the uninitiated, MicroStrategy calculates its BTC Yield as the percentage change in the ratio of its Bitcoin holdings to its Assumed Diluted Shares Outstanding (ADS). Several other industries and traditional firms have also recently employed this performance metric.
Bitcoin was trading at $90,850 at press time, a 4% decline over the past day and a 9% decrease since last week.
