Crypto Firm Fireblocks Acquires TRES for $130 Million

Following the acquisition, Fireblocks now offers a complete platform that covers all parts of digital assets, including secure transactions and financial reporting.

handshake with two hands

Digital asset infrastructure provider Fireblocks announced that it has acquired TRES Finance, a platform specializing in crypto accounting and financial reporting. The deal is valued at approximately $130 million, comprising both cash and equity. The acquisition aims to establish the first comprehensive operating system for digital assets.

The acquisition follows Fireblocks’ recent purchase of the wallet provider Dynamic and highlights the increasing demand from institutions as regulations evolve. By integrating TRES’ tools, Fireblocks intends to connect secure on-chain operations with traditional back-office functions such as auditing and compliance.

Fireblocks Ventures into Crypto Accounting

Fireblocks, founded in 2018 and currently valued at $8 billion, offers secure solutions for managing digital assets. According to the company’s CEO, Michael Shaulov, digital assets are increasingly crucial for both crypto-focused businesses and traditional companies.

“With digital assets now part of day-to-day financial operations, both crypto-native firms and traditional institutions need clear, accurate accounting and auditability. […] By bringing TRES into the Fireblocks ecosystem, customers can now run both their operations and their back-office finance on one secure, compliant, and scalable stack,” he said.

TRES Finance, an Israeli startup founded in 2022, has created tools that automate tasks across over 280 blockchains, exchanges, and custodians. These tasks include reconciliation, tax reporting, and financial controls. The company boasts more than 230 clients, including well-known firms such as Finoa, Alchemy, Dune, Wintermute, M2, and Bank Frick.

TRES has raised $18.6 million, comprising a $7.6 million seed round in 2022 and an $11 million Series A round in 2023. The entire TRES team, led by CEO Tal Zackon and CTO Eilon Lotem, will join Fireblocks to assist with integration and continue its innovative efforts.

Broader Implications for the Crypto Sector

Fireblocks’ recent acquisition highlights a growing trend in the crypto industry: mergers and acquisitions surged in 2025 and are now facing stricter regulations, such as the EU’s MiCA rules. With this acquisition, the company now offers a complete platform that covers all parts of digital assets, including secure transactions and financial reporting.

This streamlined approach will help institutions preparing for public listings or mergers, or facing closer scrutiny, by reducing the number of separate processes they need to manage. Analysts see the move as a step towards mainstream “on-chain finance,” where blockchain activity aligns smoothly with traditional financial systems.
