On July 10, 2025, the BNB Chain completed its 32nd quarterly burn, permanently removing 1,595,599 BNB tokens valued at roughly $1.024 billion from circulation. This burn marks a major step in Binance’s ongoing strategy to reduce supply, support value, and foster a deflationary tokenomics model.
The 32nd quarterly $BNB token burn has been completed directly on BNB Smart Chain (BSC).

BNB is the native currency of the BNB Chain, used across various platforms like the BNB Smart Chain, BNB Greenfield, and opBNB.
BNB Chain Quarterly Token Burn
Since launching the quarterly burn in October 2017, BNB Chain has burned over 60 million coins. This has brought the total circulating supply down to around 139 million BNB. The blockchain executed its 31st token burn in April, permanently removing 1,579,207.72 BNB valued at $916.07 million.
When Binance conducts its quarterly burn, it follows a buyback-and-burn strategy, similar to some corporate stock buybacks. The exchange uses a portion of its profits to buy back BNB on open markets. Once purchased, the coins are sent to a “burn” or “blackhole” address, which is a publicly auditable wallet that cannot be accessed. This means that those tokens are permanently removed from circulation.
This mechanism fosters scarcity and boosts investor confidence. It also demonstrates Binance’s dedication to BNB’s long-term value. As noted by analysts, fewer coins in circulation can boost upward price pressure, especially amid strong demand conditions.
Following its mainnet launch in April 2019, the BNB Chain developer team implemented an auto‑burn mechanism. This mechanism was designed to gradually reduce BNB’s total supply to 100 million tokens.
Impact on BNB’s Price
BNB’s price experienced a notable increase following the news of the burn. According to current market data, the asset currently changes at $670.67, representing a 1.4% surge in the last 24 hours. At the same time, BNB’s trading volume has increased by 67.40% to approximately $1.07 billion. The price uptick aligns with broader bullish momentum across the cryptocurrency market.
Meanwhile, this quarter’s burn coincided with other growth catalysts for the BNB ecosystem. Today, Binance unveiled support for WalletConnect Token (WCT) on the Solana network, expanding its multichain footprint. This integration aims to enable faster and cheaper transactions through the Solana network.
