What is GoPlus Security’s GPS?
GoPlus Security offers decentralized security to Web3-focused projects like blockchains and on-chain projects. The security platform harnesses Address Verification Service (AVS) and AI-powered tools to provide its clients with actionable solutions to their security matters. Users can adopt the platform’s technology to protect their transactions every step of the way. Today, the platform is backed by notable partners like OKX Ventures, Animoca Brands, Gate.io, Huobi, Avalanche, HashKey Capital, and Binance Labs.
GoPlus Security’s development team believes that its suite of security-focused services will help blockchain projects downsize their susceptibility to security breaches. Mike Lee founded GoPlus Security in 2020. The platform’s top products include the GoPlus Security API and SDKs, SafeToken Protocol, and SecNet.
GPS is the lifeblood of the GoPlus Security ecosystem. With the GPS token, holders can pay for security services on the platform, stake their tokens for additional rewards, and partake in decentralized finance (DeFi) trading activities.
Launched on the layer-2 Base network on January 16th, 2025, GPS emerged with a total supply of 10 billion tokens. As of this writing, the token has a circulating supply of 1.81 billion units, a market capitalization of $251.5 million, and a fully diluted valuation of $1.38 billion. Its daily traded volume was $51.23 million, representing almost 600% surge in the past 24 hours. This massive uptrend was primarily influenced by Binance’s announcement that it would list the Base token.
Binance Lists GPS
Binance disclosed in its announcement that GPS is the 11th project on its HODLer Airdrops list. Including GPS in this list entails BNB holders who subscribed to the Simple Earn and/or On-Chain Yields products between February 19th and 24th are eligible to receive portions of the GPS holdings to be airdropped. The announcement added that the tokens would be sent to users’ spot wallets an hour before trading commences.
Binance revealed that 3% of GPS’s total supply (300 million tokens) has been earmarked for this airdrop. Six months after Binance’s spot listing, an additional 400 million GPS tokens will be distributed during various market campaigns.
By 13:00 (UTC), Binance will list the token for open trading against the following tokens: USDT, USDC, BNB, FDUSD, and TRY.
The crypto exchange added that it would include a Monitoring Tag on the Base token, a seed tag labeling digital assets with higher volatility and risks than other cryptocurrencies. Users engaging with tokens with a monitoring tag must undergo a quiz every 90 days to ensure they know the inherent risks of these digital assets. Notably, Binance periodically removes tokens from the Monitoring Tag, indicating that GPS could be removed from the list over time.
