With the crypto industry at a major crossroads following the recent White House administration change, Binance CEO Richard Teng has become the latest to share his outlook for the year. In a fireside chat, he discussed what 2025 holds for Bitcoin amid possibilities of positive regulation in the United States.
According to a CNBC report on Tuesday, Teng stated at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, that Bitcoin will see new highs this year. The CEO also believes that the cryptocurrency regulations are becoming clearer under the newly inaugurated administration.
Crypto Regulatory Shift in the United States
The Binance CEO revealed that the positive sentiments around crypto have surged immensely as political and corporate leaders show optimism. Teng stated that this paradigm shift commenced last year amid a warmer disposition towards the sector.
Notably, Teng, who succeeded former Binance boss Changpeng Zhao, revealed that he expects progress under the new pro-crypto Donald Trump-led regime. He suggested that the administration will effect changes in different US sectors, including token issuance, trading, and asset management.
All-Rounded Pro-Crypto Administration
Furthermore, the Binance executive highlighted that Trump is not the only pro-crypto US political figure compared to the past administration. The House of Representatives and the Senate also have individuals who passionately support the nascent industry.
Notably, government representatives’ support for crypto is growing. In addition to the ever-vocal Senator Cynthia Lummis, who introduced the Bitcoin reserve bill, several other representatives have filed for the adoption of the asset at the state level.
Meanwhile, the Binance CEO stated that the construction of a new regulatory body has already commenced following Trump’s recent appointments. The US President recently nominated Paul Artins as chairman of the SEC and Caroline Pham as acting chairman of the CFTC.
Teng also expects Trump to fulfill his election promises. The Binance CEO added that he looks forward to “certainty” and “recognition” within the crypto sector under the new administration.
Bitcoin to Rally in 2025
For the first time, the crypto firstborn surpassed the $100,000 price milestone last year following Trump’s election victory. Nonetheless, Teng remains optimistic Bitcoin will surge to new all-time highs this year after Trump’s inauguration.
“If you look at past cycles, this year will be a year that we see a new all-time high for the crypto industry,” Teng said.
Meanwhile, Teng is not the only person expecting Bitcoin to make history. Arthur Hayes, an American entrepreneur and former CEO of the BitMEX crypto exchange, predicted that Bitcoin will continue an uptrend this year and peak in mid-March.
In the meantime, Bitcoin is trading at $106,100, slipping around 3% from its all-time high of $109,114, which it attained on Monday.
